I bought The Starlight Watchmaker – a sci-fi fantasy novella written by Lauren James – from Golden Hare Books in Edinburgh.
Wealthy students from across the galaxy come to learn at the prestigious academy where Hugo toils as a watchmaker. But he is one of the lucky ones. Many androids like him are jobless and homeless. Someone like Dorian could never understand their struggle – or so Hugo thinks when the pompous duke comes banging at his door. But when Dorian’s broken time-travel watch leads them to discover a sinister scheme, the pair must reconcile their differences if they are to find the culprit in time.

I bought one of the most talked about novels of the year with some National Book Tokens a few months ago! I love the gorgeous spine.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
2020 is the year I want to read some fantasy, specifically Leigh Bardugo and Victoria/V.E. Schwab. Although I likely won’t start with Ninth House – Leigh’s first adult novel – I’m still excited to pick it up.

Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli & Aisha Saeed
Gifted: Simon & Schuster Children’s Books sent me a copy of Yes No Maybe So for review. I’ve enjoyed the books by Becky Albertalli that I’ve read previously, and this sounds adorable.
Jamie Goldberg is cool with volunteering for his local state candidate – as long as he’s behind the scenes. Maya Rehman’s having the worst Ramadan ever, and now her mother thinks the solution to her problems is political canvassing – with some awkward guy she hardly knows… Going door to door isn’t exactly glamorous, but maybe it’s not the worst thing in the world. After all, the polls are getting closer – and so are Maya and Jamie.

I tried to read Ninth House … not my cup of tea. But I know a lot of people enjoyed it so I hope you do as well!
