I’m Stacey, a girl from London, England who blogs about books and life at prettybooks.co.uk and works in the book industry. Find out a little more and see what I’ve been reading.

I love treating myself to a coffee and a pastry on the weekend while I read and blog in a lovely coffee shop. ☕️
Busy week. Lovely colleagues. Great friends. Fun days. Ice cream. Coffee. Pizza. Books. Sleep. 💤
I love catching up with old friends. @kate_newcombe is someone I might not necessarily see for months but we talk for hours and hours when we do finally meet up. 💛 Tonight we had tea and cake at @yumchaatea and then decided we were hungry so stepped next door for pizza at @francomancapizz. A good start to the week, I’d say! 🍕
On Saturday, I attended my second publisher event of the year at @scholastic_uk where we got to hear all about their 2019 titles. . I’m particularly excited to read @beth__garrod’s Take a Chance on Me, @simonjamesgreen’s Alex in Wonderland, and Sabina Khan’s The Love & Lies of Rukhsana Ali, which we were given a copy of at the event! #gifted #scholasticbookfeast . “17 year old Rukhsana Ali tries her hardest to live up to her conservative Muslim parents’ expectations, but lately she’s finding that harder and harder to do. 💚 But when her parents catch her kissing her girlfriend Ariana, all of Rukhsana’s plans fall apart. Her parents are devastated; being gay may as well be a death sentence in the Bengali community. They immediately whisk Rukhsana off to Bangladesh, where she is thrown headfirst into a world of arranged marriages and tradition. 💚 Rukhsana realizes she must find the courage to fight for her love, but can she do so without losing everyone and everything in her life?” . Thank you @scholastic_uk for the invite! It was a fun opportunity to talk about books, hear from authors, editors and designers, and catch up with fellow bloggers.
I’m finally going to start this on the way home - thanks @birdbywater for lending it to me!
I’m in my favourite coffee shop again, this time with a book. I have a cold so I’m feeling pretty rubbish today (stupidly went food-shopping on an empty stomach, which makes me grumpy), but a feel a bit better now. 🤧 I hope I can get out and explore more soon because I need to take photos for @myhampstead!
I had Sri Lankan food from @hopperslondon followed by @chinchinicecream with @asti_stenning & @daphlt yesterday, and @pizzaeast’s mac ‘n’ cheese today! 😋 I had a fun day out back in east London with the fam - I bought them escape room tickets for Christmas! 🧩
On Sunday I got some housework done and went to my favourite coffee shop for a few hours of blogging! I’m trying to buy fewer coffees in the week so I can treat myself on the weekend instead. ☕️
