Here’s part two of the books I’ve bought and received over the past few months!
I attended Faber Children’s blogger brunch in February, which was really lovely. We got to hear about some of their highlights, including from authors Laure Eve (The Graces) and Alwyn Hamilton (Rebel of the Sands). We were given an excellent goody bag including The Smell of Other People’s Houses (set in 1970s Alaska and one I was hoping we’d receive), Perijee and Me (sounds adorable) and Highly Illogical Behaviour (a coming-of-age story about agoraphobia). I was also sent a copy of The Madwoman Upstairs by Quercus because I’m on the blog tour this week – keep a look out on Thursday, especially if you’re a Brontë fan!
Jim happens to be very good at giving away books and so I nabbed Counting Stars, Thanks for the Trouble, Cuckoo Song, Poppy’s Place (cats!) off him. He kindly bought me a copy of The Sleeping Prince at Mel’s launch party and Debbie also gave me a signed copy of Sarah Dessen’s The Truth About Forever because I loved Saint Anything. And lastly, Charlie gave me a copy of George – a middle grade novel I heard lots of excellent things about last year.
I also downloaded a few eBooks for review: The Thing About Jellyfish, The Secret Life of Daisy Fitzjohn, The Dead House, We Are Giants, and The Trouble with Goats and Sheep. There are some real gems here. I cannot wait to read The Thing About Jellyfish – a middle grade novel that’s been on my wishlist since it was published in the US, and I’m also intrigued because I’ve heard a lot about The Trouble with Goats and Sheep!
Are any of these books on your TBR?
