Here’s all the lovely books that July provided me with!
As I’m participating in the blog tour this month, Virago sent me two new editions of Daphne du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn. Check back on the 14th for more photos and a review! I also participated in Penguin Books’ #PackAPuffin campaign (read my post), so they kindly sent me a bunch of children’s classics: Emil and the Detectives, A Wrinkle in Time, The Family From One End Street, Goodnight Mister Tom and Carrie’s War. I’m tempted to read A Wrinkle in Time first – they’re perfect for the 2015 Classics Challenge!
I attended Orion Books’ blogger evening (check out tweets from the evening over at #OrionPreview) and picked up The Ship, Twelve Kings, Ostrich, The Daughter’s Secret, The Death House and Homemade Memories. I’m particularly excited about making my own Jaffa Cakes…
I attended a few more bookish events too! I went to the Young Adult Literature Convention (YALC) and picked up Annabel Pitcher’s Silence is Goldfish, one I’m so excited about because Ketchup Clouds is one of my favourite books, and These Shallow Graves, at a lovely blogger brunch.
I’m trying to stay away from NetGalley, but a little birdy told me David Levithan’s Another Day, a companion novel to Every Day, was available. I then went on to download Monsters and Fans of the Impossible Life.
And lastly, I bought two highly anticipated books: Judy Blume’s In the Unlikely Event and Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman. Judy Blume’s event was funny, wonderful and charming – essentially her and husband George chatting with the audience! I also treated myself to Holly Bourne’s Am I Normal Yet?! On the upside, I gave away 140+ books and now my bookshelves look so clean… Hurrah!
Have you read any of these?
