Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
Follow Me Down by Tanya Byrne
The Sea Sisters by Lucy Clarke
Anthem for Jackson Dawes by Celia Bryce
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells
Mr Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
I was sent Out of the Easy, The Sea Sisters, Anthem for Jackson Dawes and Follow Me Down for review, which is an interesting mix. I’m most excited about Out of the Easy since I adored Between Shades of Gray, but they’re all right up my alley. I also visited a local charity shop, which is well-stocked in books, and although I didn’t find many this time, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood was already on my wishlist and so I purchased it. (I had assumed it was a young adult novel, but it’s not! I love the deep south.)
I tweeted about receiving Mr. Penumbra, and I cannot wait to read it – it has been on my radar since being nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award.
And lastly, it was my birthday yesterday and my Dad bought me the George R.R. Martin box set. I cannot wait to start A Game of Thrones, especially since the third season begins soon.
Coraline was a Kindle Daily Deal as part of World Book Day, and so I thought I’d buy it since I’ve never read it, although I listened to quite a few of the audiobook-type videos. I saw World War Z in the Kindle Spring Sale and jumped on it since I’ve wanted to read it for ages. I’ve also seen a little bit of buzz surrounding the science fiction novel The 5th Wave and so I’m looking forward to picking that up. And Swimming to Elba sounds like a controversial read about two young girls growing up in Italy.
I thought I’d also show you the DVDs I received for my birthday since they are all book adaptations!
I’ve read all of the books except for Now is Good/Before I Die. I have two more to come because they’re not released yet, but I’ll show you when they arrive.
I’m looking forward to getting stuck into this month’s book haul! I hope you all enjoy the books you got this month too.
