Behold the Pretty Books!

October is apparently the time for blue books (and I’m not complaining). I received some great books this week:

Behold the Pretty Books!

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
Under my Hat: Tales from the Cauldron edited by Jonathan Straham
Constable & Toop by Gareth P. Jones

I have a lot of sequels to read at the moment and I’m trying to re-read the first books again. Daughter of Smoke and Bone will be one of them. Hot Key Books were also kind and sent me two great Halloween reads! Under My Hat is a collection of witchy short stories. Constable & Toop is a Victorian ghost story.

Behold the Pretty Books!
The Madness Underneath
by Maureen Johnson (e-galley)
Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry (ebook)

I didn’t expect to get to read The Madness Underneath until March so I’m super excited. I’m looking forward to seeing what else Rory gets up to! I saw that Rot & Ruin was only £1.99 on Kindle and as it’s been on my wishlist for a while, I bought it.

And lastly, if you know me you’ll know that I love Taylor Swift as much as I love books. I have a four-day weekend, which I’ll spend listening to Red and eating Halloween French Fancies…

  1. The Cover of The Madness Underneath is gorgeous! So is the cover of Underneath My Hat. I definitely didn’t know that you were a fan of Taylor Swift! I might be wrong, but are you a fan of the Vampire Diaries? I mean the show, not the books.

  2. I didn’t know that Days of blood and starlight was out… Definatly going to buy it soon ;p

  3. Great books! And great choice of music, too. My favorite from the album is Treacherous ❤

  4. Glad to see Days of Blood and Starlight in your haul too! Can’t wait to see what you think of it. 🙂

  5. Awesome haul! I heard Red was good, but I haven’t heard any of the songs yet. Should be a perfect long weekend!

  6. Under My Hat: Tales from the Cauldron features some of my favorite authors and it looks nice. Should add to my to-buy books.

By the way, is that an authentic signed copy of Red? Jealous! Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, the music video for Begin Again was recently released and it was shot in Paris.

  7. I’ll hopefully be reading it over the next week or so!

And yes it is! Play.com were selling the standard edition with a signed slipcase. I adore the video for Begin Again, although I don’t think it’ll be shown in the UK, which is a shame. I Knew You Were Trouble is the next UK single – it’ll be interesting to see how that does!

  8. OMG ! you have a signed copy of “Red” ?!!!!! Lucky girl !!
