Behold the Pretty Books!

I started my first archery class today (#Katniss) and on my way home I accidentally bought some books…

Behold the Pretty Books!

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shafer & Annie Barrows
The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver
Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde

I’ve wanted to read The Guernsey Literary... for a while, especially since reading The Book of Lies, which is also set in Guernsey during World War II. I was sent The Spindlers for review, which I’m really looking forward to since I read Liesl & Po — Lauren Oliver’s other children’s novel — this time last year and enjoyed it. I probably shouldn’t have bought Shades of Grey since I own the flipback edition, but it’s one of my favourite books and I couldn’t resist as it was only £3.

I also met up with Emma @ Nose in a Book last week and we did a tour of some London bookshops including Foyles, Waterstones Piccadilly, Hatchards, Marchpane (full of vintage children’s books!) and South Bank Book Market. Emma kindly invited me to see As You Like It at Shakespeare’s Globe, where I bought this rather fun bookmark. And then I met up with Daphne @ Lvng Books this week and we went to London Review Bookshop, Daunt Books Marylebone and also the Wellcome Collection. We visited their famous library and fun science exhibition, where I found a 50 Books to Read Before You Die bookmark that I’ve wanted for a while!

  1. Your bookmarks are so pretty :). I’ve had a bookmark obsession lately and I can’t wait to start work again next month to buy some that I saw on etsy. Some of them are so wonderful and creative!

I’m looking forward to reading your review on The Splinders. It sounds like a great book! I’m hoping to read some Children’s books during Christmas break,so maybe I’ll add this one to my list! Enjoy your books Stacey!

  2. Lol, accidentally buying books is one of my favourite hobbies. I got the book by Fforde also this week, I hope it will be fantastic.
