Behold the Pretty Books!

(And cake!)
Behold the Pretty Books!
Murder on the Orient Express
by Agatha Christie
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Nothing to Envy: Real Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick

I went to Foyles last week (because I’m trying to go to more ‘real’ bookshops rather than buying online; enjoying it so far!) and purchased two books (which were on my recent wishlist). I’m so glad I managed to get the Vintage Children’s Classics edition of  I Capture the Castle. I didn’t quite realise just how long the book was! I might make it my ninth classic. I also had to buy Murder on the Orient Express. There were two whole shelves of matching Agatha Christie books – I just wanted to buy them all.

My mother has also developed a fascination with North Korea and so purchased the above book. I’m going to borrow it because it really does sound interesting (and terrifying).

I normally do not get non-bookish things through the post but this week I also treated myself to Lucky’s Tweedle Twins – cake in a jar! I bought ‘Toffe Groove’, which is sea salted soft caramel topping on 60% cocoa dark chocolate with English toffee. They also sent this Tiny Piece of Wonderland because it took them longer than normal to ship deliveries. It is 40% cocoa milk chocolate filled with luscious brownie and soft caramel drops. I’ve eaten it already. Yum.
