Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth: US vs UK covers

The UK cover for Insurgent by Veronica Roth has been revealed! The “US” cover of Divergent was my favourite of 2011 and I was really looking forward to getting Insurgent with the Amity symbol (which I still may buy). I do, however, like the UK ones too. I haven’t seen them in person but I’ve heard they’re very pretty and shiny. Which do you prefer?

  1. I’ve thought about this a lot – I think I do still prefer the US ones. Especially with the symbols!!!!

  2. They’re all so pretty! I’d so I like the Divergent covers equally but I prefer the US Insurgent.

  3. I like the US versions better just because it has the symbols for dauntless on the first book and amity on the second.

  4. Definitely the US covers.

  5. I prefer the US ones but i live in UK and have the old covers? i realllyyy want the matching set do you think it’ll be possible to find the US covers over here personally i really do not like the new UK covers i want the matching ones soooo badly 😦

    • I imagine it’ll be on The Book Depository. I’ll be getting a copy from there as I want a matching set! The only thing is, paperbacks seem to take ages to be released in the US. But if you have the Divergent hardback you can get it from there straight away 🙂

      • thanks so much 🙂 i also recently found your tumblr just after posting here a week ago strange how it bought me back here 🙂 thanks for The Book Depository link i hadn’t heard about there before x 🙂 i also really love your work and reviews thanks you again.

        • Ah that’s funny 🙂 I’m glad you like the blogs! And you’re welcome – The Book Depository is great for when you cannot find a title elsewhere. It has free worldwide shipping 🙂

    • maybe you can buy it off e-bay?
or maybe order it from amazon or barnes & nobles or chapters online websites 😉
good luck on finding it if you haven’t yet 🙂

  6. Is this 2 different books or just different covers??

  7. I’ve been following your tumblr and twitter for quite sometime now (I’m asheroo and mylifeofbooks) and I just decided to browse here as it’s more solidly reviews etc. BUT! In my excitement of insurgent, I took a look a these comments and discovered thebookdepository! Too bad they don’t have a single book I want =[ But, thanks for letting people like me know about it!

    P.S. US version =]

    • Oh brilliant – thanks for following 🙂 This is more of a typical book blog whereas my Tumblr, as you know, is mainly for photos and quotes.

The Book Depository is wonderful because of its free worldwide shipping. It’s usual that they don’t seem to stock any of the books you want! They usually have most things. Unless you’re looking for non-English language titles or old books?

      • I was thinking about doing the same thing, tumblr is so full of random (fun) things, but I want a blog that is strictly book reviews and news. But… I don’t want to do it retro-actively. I’ll have to think about it!

I was actually looking for the British versions of books. Like Moon Over Soho (the american covers are horrible), and I want the British Crossed and Pandemonium and a few others, but shipping gets expensive on Amazon.uk. I don’t want to wait until I visit again, which could be a while! I’ll keeping checking back at the book depository and other sites.

  8. I do prefer the American versions.. They feel cleaner… less YA.

  9. i have the us version of divergent and the uk version of insurgent, i like them both very much but i have to say i would really love to have the us version of insurgent.
